The art form utilizing language and words is expressed through the lens of Maryland-based poets who have dedicated their artistic lives to expanding language as an art form and manner of self-expression through slam poetry, rap, and public readings. This episode will include MMG segments from WEDU on Liz Paisley, a poet who performs spoken works for her community and from New Mexico PBS on Margaret Randall, a feminist poet, writer, and social activist.

This episode will include MMG segments from New Mexico PBS on Gemma New, a knowledgeable New Zealand-born music director and conductor and DPTV on the Michigan Philharmonic.

From style writer Adam Stabb to statement muralist Pablo Machioli, The Art of Street Art discusses topics such as the journey from conception to realization of murals, the capacity of art to unite the community, and the institutionalization of graffiti art. This episode will feature MMG segments from WHRO on Brodrick Antoine, a navy sailor whose passion for murals allowed him to create an art program for the Navy, from OETA on Mural Fest Sixty-Six, a local festival that has reinvigorated its small town in Miami, and from SFPBS Arts on The Museum of Graffiti in Florida.
