Just who is Bob the Vid Tech?
Bob the Vid Tech is a very big "Vid Kid", and has his very own TV studio where every day he broadcasts the very best children's programming, which as everyone knows is found on Maryland Public Television. He appears between programs, taking kids on field trips to places like the post office, the zoo, and the firehouse, and encourages them to use their imaginations. He also finds out fun facts for both kids and families. In all of his segments, he tries to find ways for kids to have fun while learning. Bob has been on MPT since 1992!

What is MPT Kids and Family?
"MPT Kids and Family" is the block of children's programming featuring all of your favorite shows from PBS Kids.

What are Vid Kids?
A Vid Kid is anyone who watches Bob the Vid Tech and loves the shows on MPT Kids and Family, regardless of age. Bob the Vid Tech is a family viewing experience, and Bob knows "Vid Kids" that are as young as one year old, and some that are Moms and Dads! Anyone can be a "Vid Kid" at heart!

Who are the cast of characters working with Bob?
Bob has a brother, Biff, who is a bit underachieving, seems to sometimes be racked with self-doubt and needs a gentle push once in a while to get himself going. Biff is very much emblematic of some of my older, preteen Vid Kids. Biff has a good heart, though. It's just that he tends to be selfish and self-absorbed.

Then there's Pop Quiz, who is a grandfatherly, family friend skeptical of Bob. He always has a question or two about Bob's adventures, which is why he's called Pop Quiz. Momma Vid Tech is Bob and Biff's sweet mom who is always looking out for her boys and loves them both very dearly. Sid the Vid Fish is Momma's pet fish who occasionally goes on adventures with Bob and Momma. Sid is a card shark.

Who is Brianna?
Brianna is a Vid Tech apprentice. Brianna helped Bob one day when the VKPS was on the fritz. She used a giant hammer, hit it, it worked, she was hired. That was her first appearance. Brianna is also a terrific singer!

What can you tell us about Sid the Vid Fish?
Sid's been around; he's kind of a fish about town. He speaks with a street argot of the 40s that's patterned after Sheldon Leonard. He's a streetwise fish, likes to play cards, is good-hearted but kind of impatient. Then again, wouldn't you be if you were a fish out of water? Sid also enjoys making TV appearances on all of Bob's shows!

How can I see Bob the Vid Tech in person?
