Take advantage of this by showing them that words on a page have sounds and meaning. Start small, with short books full of pictures. Find a comfy place to read. Point out the objects and words you say their names. Use your voice to show excitement. Pay attention to the ways your child reacts. If they get fussy, stop
what you're doing and try something else. After all, learning about language
and reading should be fun for the both of you. |
