    Babies are born with the ability to recognize the difference between all the sounds we make. They experiment with these sounds as well. However, as they continue to grow, they forget about the sounds that they don't hear around them, and concentrate on the ones that they hear every day. That's why they need to hear lots of sounds and words now.

    When you read and talk with your baby, you are helping them along this path. In addition, by reading short books with colorful pictures in a comfortable place, you are teaching your baby that reading is fun.
