During the school year, MPT's K-12 Educational Video Service broadcasts a variety of programs that you can tape free of charge for use with children of all ages. Programs vary in length from five minutes to two hours, on topics such as music, dance, arts and crafts, reading, science, math, health, foreign languages, and character education. The broadcasts air at different times depending on the time of year:
January-May 2:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m.
June-September No K-12 programming available
October-December 1:00 a.m. to 3:30 a.m.
The schedule of K-12 offerings appears on the last page on MPT's monthly program guide, or you can check it out online. The online schedule allows you to search for a particular show by title, topic, or day of the month. Each entry indicates a program's length, recommended age group, and taping rights. The schedule also provides a detailed description of individual episodes so that you can plan ahead, as well as links to low- or no-cost curriculum guides produced by the creators of each show.
