Here’s an exciting opportunity for professional development!

Ready to Lead in Literacy: Literacy Development through the Media is an interactive workshop series designed to help caregivers guide children from language to literacy, and is funded by a Ready to Lead in Literacy grant from the Corportion of Public Broadcasting. During Ready to Lead in Literacy workshops, participants:
- learn new strategies to nurture language development,
- are introduced to key skills in emergent literacy, and
- create age appropriate activities using the Learning Triangle.
In partnership with local organizations, MPT conducts a series of three workshops with a focus on language development and reading readiness. Each workshop is 2-hours in length and our professional trainers use familiar programming, such as "Sesame Street" and "Between the Lions", as the springboard for hands-on activities during the workshop sessions.

Upon completion of all three workshops, Ready to Lead in Literacy participants receive:
- A certificate for six clock hours in Core of Knowledge: Curriculum
- Classroom resources and materials
- New books and information for the children and their families
