World-class professional cycling in Baltimore with the best cyclists around the world.
World-class professional cycling is showcased in Baltimore, Maryland with the best cyclists from around the World featuring Tour de France participants, World Champions, National Champions, Olympians and cycling heroes from 30 countries. The Maryland Cycling Classic, America’s Top One-Day Pro Cycling Race, is a UCI ProSeries one-day international cycling race sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and USA Cycling.
The 2025 Maryland Cycling Classic takes place Sept. 4-6 and will be filled with many opportunities for the community to be engaged in a unique way with free participatory events and an interactive festival with local flavor while watching the world’s best cyclists from around the world compete for the Maryland Cycling Classic champion jersey.
MPT's all day coverage begins with the MPT Sports Desk at 8am where we'll set the stage for both the Women and Men's races and get you ready for a full day of cycling excitement.

Nelson Vails was the first African American to win a medal in cycling at the 1984 Olympics.
Following Major Taylor's Legacy, Herbie Francis was the first Black American to represent the USA in cycling at the 1960 Olympics in Rome.
Marshall "Major" Taylor raced on the same streets where cyclists from around the world will compete this Sunday in the Maryland Cycling Classic. He was a legend. The first black world champion in cycling and the second black world champion in any sport.
Oliver "Butch" Martin was the second black person to represent the USA in cycling at the 1964 and 1968 Olympics.
US champions and brothers, Justin and Cory Williams race hard and win on the track. They created L39ion of Los Angeles to help encourage and inspire more people of color to pick up the sport.
Rahsaan Bahati is a professional cyclist, 10-time US cycling champion, and philanthropist. After dominating the sport of cycling, he made it his mission to give back to the community and inspire the next world champions to ride.
