Community Service Initiatives
Purpose MPT believes that a healthy community is where families and citizens enjoy quality of life in a nurturing social structure - from education and social services to civic leadership. These communities are vibrant and dynamic in all of their many segments. As an active member of the Maryland community, MPT's outreach efforts contribute to the well-being of this dynamic interdependence, enriching and strengthening the people of our region. As an educational and informational resource, MPT provides content in many forms. This includes our on-air programming, distance learning for schools and colleges, on-line teacher training, and much more. We also connect citizens to expertise and resources through screening and discussion events, real-time phone banks, viewer's and teacher's guides, and on-line content. MPT is proud to partner with various community groups to provide these and many more resources to come. Using MPT programming as a basis for public discussion of cultural diversity, family literacy, health, and the arts, MPT invites you to become more involved in the well-being of our community.
