Our
trip began with dinner, cocktails and continental breakfast on
an overnight flight to London. Highlights included a guided sightseeing tour of London, a theatre production
in the infamous West End, and visits to King Henry VIII's Hampton
Court Palace gardens, Stonehenge, Salisbury, and the medieval walled
city of York.
In Wales we
explored a land rich in tradition, Celtic culture and an ancient
language that is still spoken in many areas. We viewed the largest building
in Wales, the amazing Caerphilly Castle during a visit to the capital
city of Cardiff.
After two days
touring Scotland's Lake District, Gretna Green, Edinburgh, as well
as a Scottish woolen mill we joined our group for a festive farewell
evening with a traditional Scottish banquet.
