Call for Submissions: Chesapeake Bay Week 2025
Each year, Maryland Public Television’s Chesapeake Bay Week celebrates our nation’s largest estuary with a collection of programs and films designed to provoke, inspire and entertain. Quality local content
is at the core of this popular week of programming. In 2025, programs will air April 20th-26th on Maryland Public Television; additionally, some programs will be considered for national distribution to public television stations across the country and via online platforms.
Successful submissions will be well-produced and timely, exploring topics relevant to the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed. We’re looking for films that run the gamut—anything from serious environmental documentaries that examine ecological issues facing the Bay, to uplifting programs celebrating the Chesapeake region’s history, culture and cuisine.
SUBMISSION PROCESS:
Submissions will be accepted until COB Friday, December 6, 2024. Producers should send a working link to the full film, a short description and a few lines explaining why it would be appropriate for Chesapeake Bay Week to ChesapeakeBayWeek@mpt.org.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Producers must be willing to license the program to Maryland Public Television for air during Chesapeake Bay Week without a fee
- Program must have been produced in accordance with MPT editorial standards. More information is available here:
